Standard
Punjabi Samvad protects adult participants from exploitation, abuse, harassment and misuse of power. Staff must consider the added risk created by disability, illness, poverty, social exclusion or dependence on services.
Prohibited conduct
- Seek sexual contact or favours through a programme relationship.
- Exchange assistance, selection or access for personal benefit.
- Threaten, degrade or coerce a participant.
- Exploit financial or social vulnerability.
- Misuse health, identity or safeguarding information.
Responding to a concern
Address immediate safety needs, listen to the adult's wishes and explain any legal or safety limits on confidentiality. Report the concern to the Safeguarding Focal Person. Contact the relevant authority when law requires a report or when an immediate and serious risk demands action.
